Morph Cut: "can't apply to a single clip"

I am trying to add a morph cut to a talking head interview.

When applying the transition I get "Failure can't apply to a single clip"

Any ways to solve this?

ANSWER: I was trying to apply to a multi camera clip when I got this error. I right clicked on each clip, then to multi camera, then to flatten clip. The problem was try to apply to two camera angles that were in the multi clip on the timeline. You can only apply to a single clip.

Solution for me:

Using Morph cuts on multicam footage, rendering "In to Out" the two clips that need a morph cut fixes the "Failure can't apply to a signle clip.

The tip from RonaldCz also works, but I don't want to lose the ability to switch cameras later. (If I decide to abandon the morph and change the edit).

Following up; this seems to not be a reproducable solution every time.

I did just have success with a different workaround when rendering in-to-out failed:

I used RonaldCz's suggestion and then copied the analyzed Morph cut back to the original multi-cam.

Alt-drag over the two multi-cam video clips > duplicate them to the empty track above > flatten both duplicates > apply and tune morph > copy the transition down to the original multi-cam > delete the duplicate clips in the upper track.

Pretty strange bug. Sometimes pre-rendering before placing the transition works, sometimes it says failure, and sometime it analyzes and then gives a completely garbage morph, changing whole pieces of the background that were identical in both clips.

Solution for me: when you get "Failure can't apply to a single clip" from applying it to the latter of the two clips (and only the latter), click on the morph and look in the Effect Controls. Change "Alignment" to "Center at Cut" and it should automatically now apply to the two clips by newly covering the prior clip in addition to the latter clip. It should all work from here!

This helped me, too! I'm new to Adobe Premier so I had to figure out how to do this advice. For those new like me:

Step 1) Apply the morph cut effect (even if says "cannot apply to a single clip")

Step 2) Go to Window>Effect Controls. Only then will you see the dialog box but not if it is not applied to the clip.

Step 3) In the dialog box that pops up, under the alignment part, select "Center at Cut" from the dropdown menu. The morph cut will stop applying just to the one clip and now cover the beginning of the second clip and the end of the first clip. Hope this helps!

Have you found a solution yet? I can't chop off any more of the clip, deleting cache etc. didn't do a thing...

The times I have experienced this issue, I have clicked on the Morph Cut to view the properties, then changed Alignment to Centre at Cut.

You may need to cut a few frames off of one or both clips where they meet.

All the usual stuff, you do have frames underneath the transition. You might want to clear your cache for a first thing.

• Start PP from it's normal desktop icon (IE: don't open from a project file link).
• Close the Open/Home screen (and you will be in PP without a project open).
• Go into Edit/Preferences/Media Cache (Mac users adjust menu name)
• Then Press: Remove Media Cache Files: and Delete...
• Select: Delete all media cache files from the system and OK
• Close PP - It will create any needed cache files on the fly as you edit.

I can't get it to happen unless I slide the transition to one clip or another, once it's been placed on a cut. IE: Move it left or right onto a single clip.,
