Question

Motion files to Premiere or AE

Just downloaded a way cool editable template from MotionVFX.  But can't seem to open it in either AE or Premiere.  Looking up file extensions, the template appears to be for Final Cut Pro X (FCPX).  I've downloaded from this site before and not had an issue.  Is there a way to use these files in AE or Premiere?  Or is there a plug in that will let adobe read FCPX files like .moti, .motr, .motn??

Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure XtoCC won't help here. If you downloaded a Motion template (files that end in .moti/r/n), it can't be converted by XtoCC. XtoCC only converts .fcpxml project files exported out of FCPX. But even if you dropped a Motion template clip in an FCPX timeline  and exported the .fcpxml file, it wouldn't work to translate the Motion file. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news!

Hi Clarkcrest,

I see you're having trouble importing an Apple Motion project into Premiere Pro or After Effects. There's no native way to do that, you need a plug-in from my buddies at Intelligent Assistance: XtoCC

That will work for you.

Thanks!
Kevin
