Mouse disconnects every 10 seconds when running Premiere

When Premiere is running, my mouse (MX Master 3) keeps disconnecting about every 10 seconds. clicking a mouse button has it reconnect, but it then repeats. I think this has begun happening after the last update to premiere. 

 

when using other mice, connected with a dongle, the problem dissappears. closing the program also stops the disconnecting.

 

i'm very confused and it's really frustrating that i can't use my main mouse with premiere anymore. any help is much appreciated

I have not had that installed before. Went ahead and installed it now, set up my mouse, but am still having the same issue.
