Mov to MP4 color is mismatching

Hi all!

I have this issue it sometimes worked now it doesnt.

I have a .mov file that i can share with you if you have a solution, the problem is next:

I use after effects for an animation and i export it as a .mov and the colors are accurate with a color palete of 0687AE , but when i insert it into premiere pro and export as mp4 i get the color 0787AE, and the thumbnail icon on the desktop is very different, when i import the mp4 in the premiere pro for comparisson it is almost the same but not identical.

I need to get the mp4 file exactly the same as the mov and i fail to do that, i am not asking about the graphic preview settings that is adjusted, the issue i have is the rendering options and why does it look different... sometimes i had this problem and managed to fix it now i can't even online converter from mov to mp4 will fail and give some 3rd type of preview.

To know more what i am talking about here is as screen shot, the right one is accurate the left one fails.

In Ae, set the working space to Rec.709-gamma 2.4. That is what Premiere is hardwired to work in. In both Premiere and Ae, make sure the linear space option is not set ... it's in that window for Ae, in Premiere, it's in the Sequence Settings, "Composite in Linear Color".

Typically, those both need to be off to match Ae and Pr. But test ... there are situations where you need to change those to make it work.

Hi Neil, I am geting closer but still it's a missmatch now the color palete is closer but still off.
It makes her 0687AE in after effects.
But when i put it in premiere pro it makes her 0587AE.
I don't know why it is doing that...

And the thumbnail icons are different the mp4 export is a bit more greener again...

What are your color management settings in Ae? And is "linear color" on or off in Ae?

I believe VLC matches premiere for gamma 2.2. quicktime uses 1.96 gamma so I wouln't use that for reference. Does it look the same when putting it back into AE?
