Multi Cam edit & Tranferring .movs via Google Drive

I will be getting my first multi-cam edit on Thursday, they are shipping me a thunderbolt drive.  I watched this video and will be using the Create Multi Cam Sequence. They will send me 5 camera angles in .mov format, and and audio .mp3 file.  I assume that the audio file can be added into as one of the camera angles, if not would render a dummy file with blank mp4 video and add that. 

 

My question is on the audio as I will only want to use the one audio file, and when I switch camera to still use the .mp3. Will that be evident and easy to do, or will I need to manually drop in the audio on my timeline and sync, then hide the other audio on the 5 .movs.

 

They originally tried to send me the five - 39 minute .movs via google drive, but kept erroring out on download. I will render to .mp4 which will be smaller file, but wanted to ask in anyone had trouble with Google drive as I seen many posts so seems to be a common problem. 

 

Thanks in advance for your help, I have been using Premiere & After Effects since their inception, as a hobbyist/trainer, so getting a project like this is redemption for having to work in packaging design industry as could never find work in video except training people. Any tips to my workflow like should I convert the .movs to .mp4 first are much appreciated.

Thanks will keep them as mov as per Neil's helpful recommendation. I believe this is goingt o web, so is rendering to a 20 minute to H.264 .mp4 the best solution? They either will have me put on thunderbolt, or will upload to their webserver if they give me rights.

 

Any idea how to get rid of the timecode is monitor window is annoying.

That last bit ... that's an "Overlay" in Premiere speak. Right-click in the Program monitor, go to the bottom to the Overlay settings, and deselect Overlay.

 

Several people have posted here and other places. Apparently keeping the file to YouTube at UHD and above some level of mbits gets a higher level of file quality after they recompress. I don't remember the exact settings.

 

But I know a number who upload a medium level ProRes or DNx variant and say hey, it works fine. Takes a bit longer on the upload of course. So ... we'll see what recommendations you can get.

Put all the clips including the separate audio into one bin. Select all, Create Multicam. It will match to that separate audio automatically.

 

I would also suggest editing from the mov files rather than from H.264 transcodes as that is much easier on your system.
