Multi cam video cropping premier pro

I am a total beginner with premire pro.  I am video recording my kids water polo games and wanted to film different angles (multi cam).  I watched online tutorials and all seemed good... except after I create the multi cam sequence the video gets cropped... my wide angle shot only covers aboit half of original footage.

This is of course defeats the purpose of getting better shots and angles.

what and I doing wrong ?

again I am a begginer!

Your frame-sizes are not only dramatically different, but of different shooting proportions.

The 4k is a standard 16:9 proportion, the 1080 shot with 1.333 pixel aspect ratios. Typically the one with 1.3333 pixel pitch is expected to be widened out to 16:9 proportion in editing, but not always.

Try to get both to the same pixel aspect ratio first, 1.0 probably, which would mean seeing if Camera 2 can shoot full 1920x1080. With the same pixel aspect ratio & frame proportions, 4k can be dropped onto a 1080 timeline just fine.

It sounds like the cameras did not have the same frame-size settings ... check the frame-size & frame-rate info for your clips in the Project panel. Are they the same?

So I recorded one in 4K.  Here are the properties:

    Camera 1

    Type: MPEG Movie

    File Size: 15.25 GB

    Image Size: 3840 x 2160

    Frame Rate: 29.97

Source Audio Format: 48000 Hz - 16 bit - Stereo

Project Audio Format: 48000 Hz - 32 bit floating point - Stereo

    Total Duration: 00;36;47;06

    Pixel Aspect Ratio: 1.0

    VR Projection: None

    Camera 2

    File Size: 1.98 GB

    Image Size: 1440 x 1080

    Frame Rate: 29.97

Source Audio Format: 48000 Hz - compressed - Stereo

Project Audio Format: 48000 Hz - 32 bit floating point - Stereo

    Total Duration: 00:23:19:15

    Pixel Aspect Ratio: 1.3333

    VR Projection: None

So is that the issue?  Frame rate appears to be the same...Do I need to just set both to record at 1080?

Could you post the pixel dimension it shoots? It's pretty easy to tell from that what you're getting for "PAR". And for the 5-6 year old rig, yea ... that might be the max it can do. However, I think normally that is designed to then be displayed in a "corrected" PAR of 1.0 to create 16:9, isn't it?

The camera model would be useful too, so we can help look up things.

We might be getting to the limits of my knowledge as a beginner.  I just tested doing a multi cam with 2 cameras both shooting 1080 16:9 and it worked well...

Here are the cameras I have.  New Sony FDR-AX53 (4K) doesn't allow to shoot in anything expect 16:9

Old camcorder: Sony HDR-CX130. Here are properties of a video shot with the old one.

I am not sure where to get other info.
