Multichannel audio sequence setting greyed out

New Here ,
Jun 14, 2023 Jun 14, 2023

In the past, when finishing an edit, I was able to duplicate a sequence and change my audio settings so I could make a multi-channel, 8 track split export of the cut without much effort.

It seems that altering audio sequence settings are no longer as easy as it once was and I can not figure out how to unlock it.  I've tried everything I can think of to resolve the issue.  I'm sure it's something obvious but I need help to resolve this.

I thought it was always the case that you couldn't change an existing sequence to Multi-channel. For that reason I would either start with a multichannel, or copy-paste all the clips in my sequence into a new multi-channel sequence.

I created a new sequence and followed your instruction.  It solves my issue.  However what I can't understand is why I haven't run into this before.  I'm fairly sure Adobe updated something recently and changed what a user is able to do with audio channels.

Right click sequence in the Project Panel > audio channels.

That method only allows you switch between Mono, Stereo, 5.1 and Adaptive. It doesn't let you switch to Multi-channel.

I don't believe there is any other way other than the copy/paste method.

You are right: no multichannel.
