Need help with Format conversion

Hi,

I Have a requirement to convert VOB files to MP4. Am using Adobe Premiere pro for this purpose. But i see that maximum available Preset is of less quality(.3GP mobile video). Tried creating a Custom Preset which has 352X288 resolution while the source is 720X480. Is there a way how i can preserve the quality of the video and change the format.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Regards.

Use HandBrake instead.

In Premiere choose H.264 instead of mpeg4 as format.

I have not tested, but does HandBrake convert non-square pixel footage to square pixel footage while retaining the correct image aspect ratio? Many converters fail and the result is "squished" footage, iow a circle is not a correct circle anymore. I have not HB installed on this system and cannot test for myself. 🙂

Is the source footage 4:3 or 16:9?

I have a lot of Videos which I cant check Manually, but at random basis when I checked all of them are 4:3, but there can also be some with 16:9. Do we have follow a different process for different Aspect Ratio? Please suggest.
