Nikon Footage not importing into Premiere Pro

Having the same issue. Half my video files went offline. Turned the .Mov files into audio clips.

This started when I hit Window-Extensions-Assets (I was searching for pluraleyes)

I upgraded to 2018 and re-imported. No luck.

I converted the files to Mp4s. No luck.

I changed root file name and re-imported. Half worked.

I changed root file name of the other half. Half worked.

I changed root file name of the other other. The rest worked.

Now a complete day of logging wasted. I need to re-log every file. And go through two more days of footage and change root file names.

How do I tell my client how i've just wasted two days of work?

Note: My MTS files shot on Canon were not affected. Just the footage shot on the Nikon.

Trying to puzzle out the issue here. It started when you hit Windows/Extensions/Assets ... did you have the files selected while doing so? I'm wondering if you intentionally or accidentally changde some file association setting?

I take it these were standard mov files?

I have mixed Nikon (D750, D600), GH3 Panny, and BMPCC4K files. Not having an issue with any format of any of them.
