No audio wavefrom from Tascam DR70D .wav file

Hi, just got a Tascam Dr70D and shot video and audio using the Tascam and a Canon 6D, set up as per the Tascam manual. I import the .MOV file from the Canon and the .wav file from the Tascam. I selected multi-camera source sequence and audio and video aligned (yay), but the audio waveform is not visible in the timeline. "Generate audio waveform" from the Clip menu has no apparent effect. For aligning audio and video on a single clip and not doing any audio postprocessing, this is fine, but for key frames etc. I would like to see the waveform. Any idea what I am doing wrong? Mac OS 10.12.3, Premiere 2017.0.2 all updates applied.

2 audio channels, 44K Hz, 16 bit. Is that what you mean by "specs"? The audio recorder (Tascam Dr70D) is intended for use with video cameras such as my Canon DSLR in that it has a mic-level "Camera out" as well as a "Camera in" for monitoring. The idea is that it records a higher quality audio track that you can then align with the video, using for example multi-camera source sequence. The recorder can be used as a stand-alone recorder as well. The wave form does not show in source monitor.

You could try converting it in Audition to 48K, the standard sample rate for video.

Render the audio.

Hi, I selected the audio in the timeline and went to Sequence->Render Audio. Still no waveform. Was this the right procedure? What does "render" do exactly?

Yeah, I'd expect that to work.

Do you have audio, just no waveforms?
