Question

No Image on DCP 4K import

Hello,

I'm mainly working with movie trailers material. My clients are mostly sending me 4K DCP.

When I import those DCP in Premiere I have the audio but no image. The image is black. If I scrub, sometimes I see one image.

If I export, there is no image and only the audio.

This problem is not occurring with 2K DCP. It is only with 4K DCP.

It is consistent within Premiere Pro and Media Encoder. No Image, only audio.

The problem occurs on PC + nvidia 3080 , iMac Intel , and Mac M1 Max computers.

So far, I have managed to transcode those 4K DCPs in 2K DCPs with DCP-o-Matic, but I've got to do it one by one as the batch process is not as convenient as Media Encoder.

Is it a limitation, or is there a way to fix it in Premiere or Media Encoder.

At least If I could benefit from the batch conversion on folder watch, it would be ok.

Any idea ?

Hey Gilles LC,

My apologies for the poor experience. Would you be able to share your source files with us for testing purposes? Also, which version of Premiere are you currently using? Have you tried rolling back to the previous version to see if that works for you?

Regards,
Ishan

Hello Ishan,

the version number is 22.4.0 (build 57).

I did not try to roll back to the previous version so far, but I've tested with or without hardware mercury acceleration and, as mentioned in my initial message, several computer configurations.

I could not upload the file here as it is way too large, so the following link is a zip file with a 4K DCP for you to test and screen copy of the version number of premiere pro.
