Question

No sound on some clips after export

I have seen this problem reported by others, and tried some of the solutions posted, but they didn’t work for me. I have seen adobe folk saying that this bug has been fixed, but I am on version 24.1 and the problem is clearly alive, well and plaguing my work without a workable solution.

The problem: All the sound played perfectly on the timeline but some clips dropped sound out on the export. I tried both media encoder and exporting straight from Premiere Pro, but to no avail.

The first 2 audio tracks played well, but i need two more tracks with music and  sporadic applause, but these two would not play in the export.

But when I switched these tracks (3 and 4) to the place of track 1 and 2, they played perfectly, but track 3 and 4 did not play after export.

i copied the whole project to a new timeline and restarted the project, as suggested as a solution, but that didn’t work for me.

I changed the bitrate to CBR, as suggested, but this didn’t work either.

I right clicked the missing soundtracks, rendered them, as suggested, but this didn’t work either.

Finally in desperation as my deadlines loomed nearer, I re-edited the project with just two tracks in audio and this sub-par compromise is the only thing that worked after many days wasted.

I told my client that this is just a stop-gap arrangement, and I will deliver the original approved version as soon as I have a working solution to the problem - on my time and dime.

Hi Kevin,

Sorry for the delay in getting back. I was in the field filming, and it slipped my mind after...

Thee clip that didnt play sound was a mov. file i got from a third party.

My other files that I shot myself were canon raw files from a Canon C300.

I am editing on a macbook pro from late 2015.

I hope this helps.

Thanks.

Convert the faulty clip to an edit friendly codec such as Prores.
