No video preview after software update

I just updated to the latest version of Premiere Pro, and video sequence is not displaying for a project I had started but not worked on for a couple years. Would appreciate any help.

Notes on the situation and what I've tried:

  • Audio is working fine; only video is not working.
  • The source videos play back fine in PP in and of themselves; it seems to only be in the context of the project's sequence that they do not play. Also, to test it out, I created a new project using the same source videos, and they play back fine.
  • I tried exporting, and the resulting file also did not have any video, only audio.
  • I deleted all preview files; PP indicates the sequence does not need to be re-rendered.
  • I changed the playback engine several times.

I'm stumped. I'd really hate to lose all the editing I did previously.

Issue fixed.

Solution: Make sure your video tracks are not toggled off, NATHAN

Trash preferences and media cache.

Make new project and import old one, see how that goes.

Thanks for the tips. No luck so far, unfortunately.

Hi @1976853,

I read your note and saw your screenshot. Try this: Move your media to somewhere besides "OneDrive." Relink the media. Does that work? Let us know.

Thanks,
Kevin

Hey,

I'm sorry to hear about this. You're seeing this issue on Premiere Pro 24.1; is that correct? Please let us know if you're on a Mac or a Windows system. If you have an NVIDIA GPU, please install the latest Studio Drivers. If this issue is specific to a single project, please create a new project and import your current project into it. Let us know if that helps.

Thanks,

Ishan

Yes, this is specific to a single project. I'm using a Windows 11 laptop with an Intel UHD Graphics 620 GPU.

I tried creating a new project and importing the old one but got the same result: audio was fine, video was not displaying for the sequence. (Though, as I mentioned before, I can view individual clips outside of the sequence just fine.)

I also tried converting the old project to the new format (see screenshot). It worked for a different project but not for the one in question, and I'm stumped.

Anything else I can try?
