OBS Capture has Sync Sound Issues in Premiere Pro

Hi everyone,

I need to copy some material via a screen grab from a tv co. website for a rough cut of my project. This is allowed as we're going to license the final version but have been asked to take a screen grab for the rough cut. The project is 25p 1920x1080. I'm using OBS to copy the material, however, every time I do this the sound is out of sync and I can't find a way to resolve it. Tried lots of different OBS settings and it's still not working. Quicktime had the same issue. Any ideas? Many thanks, J-P

System spec:

macOSMojave

Get a watermarked workprint of the footage from the supplier before you buy it?

Try converting the file using Handbrake https://handbrake.fr  to a Constant Frame Rate file. Make sure you specify the frame rate you want and set it to Constant:

Thanks MtD, sorry, I should have said that I had already tried that and it
still doesn't work. I wonder if I'm using the wrong fps record setting from
the screen grab and not the native one. However, I've tried 25,30,50 and
60fps and it's still not working. Any other suggestions?
Best, J-P

Jean Paul,

Sorry for the problem. The first thing I would try is to see if you can capture at a constant frame rate, not a variable one. Sorry, I don't know OBS well so I cannot make a precise recommendation.

Next, try a different application. Maybe Bandicam? See if that works.

Is the file very lengthy? If so, you may want to use a dedicated hardware device to prevent audio drift brought about by longer audio-video screen captures with software capture software, like OBS.

Hope the advice helps.

Thank You,
Kevin

Thank you Kevin. I've found OBS to be the most stable but not tried Bandicam so will give it a go. The file isn't long, around 4mins that I'm looking to screen grab. Best, J-P
