Question

Order of P2 clips in Media Encoder queue

Hello.  I want to encode P2 clips in the order they were shot so that afterwards they will retain their original order in the directory where they are stored.  Media encoder lists P2 clips in the correct order in Media Browser but when they are imported into the queue they lose it.  Is there a way to retain the correct order when opening clips into the queue?

Thank you.

The order of the queue doesn't really matter.  That's just the order in which the clips get processed.

Thanks for your reply.  The order clips appear in the queue and are processed is reflected in the Date Created time stamp of the exported files and is the order that clips appear in Finder and Explorer.  That has negative downstream implications when trying to do things like concatenate a multiclip shoot into a single preview file with ffmpeg because ffmpeg concatenates files in the order they appear in the folder they are in.

In that case, you can always manually rearrange the order with drag and drop.

But...why create a new P2 folder structure?  Why not create self-contained files, one for each "clip"?
