Question

Original Footage got shorter after using in premiere pro

I recorded screen on my mac. This is MOV file. 1.92 Gb, about an hour long.

After that I used this footage to edit in premiere pro. Suddenly the file got shorter and now it's 9 seconds long insted of an hour! BUT the size of it still 1.92 Gb.

Now premiere plays only first 9 seconds and when I play the original file with any player - it's 9 sec too.

I tried to convert this corrupted file into mp4 but it turned to an 1.8 Mb file of 9 second long.

What can I do in this situation? Thanks!

Thanks. But this doesn't solve the problem. My original media (footage on desktop) got shorter magically after editing in premiere. This link doesn't explain that.

please get media info

https://mediaarea.net/en/MediaInfo/Download

and check your source media to see if it's constant frame rate or variable.  If it's variable, change it to constant using handbrake

https://handbrake.fr

Many people report these sorts of problem with vfr footage and screen recordings are almost ALWAYS vfr.

If you need help with the conversion in handbrake, post back or do some googling.
