outline glow effect problem

guys im trying to me a make a glow outline of my charter for my youtube vid for some reason its black here is video how i wanted 
the outline glow effect

and how i created that effect that video to down below
am i doing something wrong

try to nest everything you did, and put it on a track above your actual 

character video that does not have any effects applied to it.

maybe you should set the nested outline blending mode to screen or add under opacity,

then play around with scale and position. 

if it doesn't work you can send the open files to figure out a solution

and let you know.
