Phone video portrait orientation looks inconsistent between Program Monitor and rendered video

I'm using Premiere Pro (Version 14.0.0, Build 572) on a MacBookPro.

When I import phone video that was taken in portrait orientation, the video looks compressed horizontally in the Program Monitor, but it looks okay once it's rendered for export (images attached).

I want to be able to split the screen up to show multiple videos, but since the Program Monitor isn't showing what's going to be rendered, it's impossible for me to position things no the screen correctly.

Does anyone have any ideas?

All the video that was taken in landscape orientation  looks fine in both the Program Monitor and the rendered view.

Please use the free MediaInfo and post a screenshot the properties of your media in tree view:

If the file is variable frame rate, which although Adobe says it will support, many users are having issues with VFR.

Use Hand brake to convert to constant frame rate:

Can you post a sceen shot of what it looks like in the Program Monitor?

It's better to add your screen shots for posting here using the Insert Photo button:

Thanks, I'll give it a try.  I had one person send  me video in both portrait and landscape orientatioin from the same phone.  The landscape orientation worked fine, but the portrait orientation had problems.  If it were a VFR issue, shouldn't both of them have problems?
