I wish to know whether it is possible to see the reduction in pixel after selecting it.

You can't see the dimensions of the sequence in pixels after changing the playback's resolution (if that's your question), but why do you need to see it?

Your are taking an action but result is blind if you cannot see any changes in the program panel.
