When using the STEP FORWARD ONE FRAME key it does move playhead by one frame. however should I need to move it again by another frame, the key no longer respond. (same with backward)
How do I navigate my timeline FRAME BY FRAME, stopping as I please and continuing as needed.
New to Premiere this is day 3 and trying to get my bearings, thank you for your help!! 🙂
PS: 20 years editing with another software the transition is brutal (yikes)
Just wanted to update everyone in regards to my issue. It somehow magically resolved itself without me doing anything. And now it works. Not sure whether Adobe updated something behind the scenes, but all my keyboard customizations were (and still are) fine, I had programmed the shortcuts properly and the function now responds normally. This has allowed me to edit a second large project with less hassle. Learning Premiere as I go, and making very fast progress, but still will have many questions

Is this different to your other post?
If you use the left and right arrows on the keyboard, that is how you do it.
Put your cursor in the middle of the timeline, ie: so you have multiple frames on each side, and try that arrow, that you seemed to want to override in the other post.

The left and arrow keys did not seem to work at all. So I reprogrammed that function to two other keys and now it works stepping back by one frame or forward by one frame however as I stated it will only do that once. No repeat possible. I would like for it to do that more than once. In your reply you said that the arrow keys will do the job and do it more than once in a row, however this is not at all the outcome I had. Can you help figure out why it won't work for me? Many thanks 🙏

By the way, are you using the Adobe Default keyboard layout, or have you changed it to what you are using to for 20 years?

Neither. Most of the Adobe standard key assignments are the same but I did customize a few to better match my workflow Style.

What's your hardware, PC or mac, OS, PP Version from the help screen?
You might want to reset the preferences to default values, to make sure you have things correctly. It shouldn't take anything to have the arrows work normally. IE: left and right move 1 frame, up and down move to next/previous clips. Hold shift while you start pp from the normal PP icon.
