Playback Crashes...everytime

Okay y'all,

I've been playing back this interview footage a pretty good deal and had no problems. Now it's got crossfades and morph cut dissolves and I can't get through one playback. I've got about 50% available on my 500GB drive (MBPro), 16GB RAM...I'm trying to settle this thing down but it's not having it.

Can anybody tell me where my problem lies? What can I do? I need to have this project edited this week.

Thanks for reading.

Sorry: Your 7 year old laptop is not compatible with Pr 2022:

https://helpx.adobe.com/nl/premiere-pro/system-requirements.html#macos

- Your processor is intel 6th gen. 7th generation is recomended

- You have 1.5 GB vRAM on your GPU. 2 GB is minimum

Good to know. It looks like A bogus Morph Cut is actually the source of the problem.

Not sure why that would be but I plucked the one close to where the sequence kept crashing the software and it stabilized.

Hi Gotta Dance,

Wow, that's weird. Tell us about your system, your media, and which version of Premiere Pro you are running. I hope we can assist you.

Thanks,
Kevin

Hi Kevin,

I have some years of programming experience so to a degree I'm pretty good at sussing things out. This one's really vertical. I was humming right along and now it's like a brick wall. I do one playback (of 90 sec) and it can't make it without crashing. It crashes in about the same place everytime, about 2/3rds in.

2015 MBPro, Catalina

500GB SSD, 16GB RAM

Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB GPU

Adobe Premiere 2022

Now, I open a new file and import the problem project into it as that green-colored layer and it operates fine, but I don't have access to the cuts and effects this way.

I'm trying to figure out if it's a hardward issue, a referencing glitch or if the morph edits are too demanding on the GPU or something.

So if I can't scrub the file with the edits, would a pre-render be the next best resolve to keep thigns moving? I don't have too much time to assess what's wrong.

Unforunately, you're right as well. I'm running into more issues. The silver lining is this is my backup laptop. My other MBPro 2015 (Big Dog) has the AMD Radeon R9 M370X with 2GB of GDDR5 memory and automatic graphics switching.

I need to get the drive replaced on that stat AND get the HD enlarged by 500GB.

Thanks for the heads up!
