Playback Full screen wont close

I'm new to premier pro and video editing,

As a newbie ive been self learning how to use the app and my knowledge is very basic but while trying to learn how to use the app, I forgot the one rule when working with anything:

ALWAYS SAVE YOUR WORK - 

Ive sepent SOOO many hours today making a video i wanted to show my partner, after entering full screen on playback, it wasnt at the begining so i went to exit to play it from the start but it refused to close. I searched for ages on how to close it, nothing worked..i couldnt even force quit or change to another application or get back to the desktop.. Why wouldnt it close? I was forced to hold the power button. 

ALL MY WORK GONE - honestly want to cry and couldnt even show my partner. 

so i think thats it, Video editing isnt me,
