Playback issues with Adobe Premiere Pro

Hello Everyone, I have an issues with my Adobe Premiere Pro playback that is really costig me time.  When I first open my system, my playback is perfectly fine, but when I stop the playback, perform an edit as simple as a cut or duplicate my sequence, and then continue again, my the playabck in the Program window will drop frames and freeze entirely.  I have been on the chat with Adobe Customer service 5 times, as well as with NVIDIA directly once and each person tried a different method of fixing my problem and my playbac will be fine during the call, but persist afterward we disconnect, or the next time I turn on my computer.  here is the steps that they took that temporarily fixed the problem...

First Customer Service REP 1) Clean reinstall of Premiere before directing me to contact NVIDIA directly about my Graphics Card.  I spoke to NVIDIA and they did a clean reinstall of my NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti 16GB drivers.  The problrme persisted the after I turn my computer back after I eat lunch

SECOND Customer service REP 2) cleared my caches.  the problem was resolved, but When I closed m,y project and continue work after the chat, the problem continued.

THIRD Customer Service REP 3) Changed my Audio INPUT setting to NO INPUT and also cleared my cache.  I was fine for an hour before the issue persisted again this morning after shutting down for the night

FOURTH Customer Service REP 4) Directed my one disconnected One Drive from my PC since my cache folder was apaprently simultaneously being synched to One Drive.  The issue was resolved for an hour and ahppened again.

FIFTH Customer Service REP 5) Since I am working with a dual screen set up, with a 4K montior ocnnecmed via Display Port and a 4K HD TV connected via HDMI, directed me to change my workspace from my custom workspace to the default Editing workspace, which is actually the opposite configuration of my workplace.  Now, my Program panel is on my 4k HD TV HDMI monitor and all other panels are on the 4K Monitor connected via Display port, and I haven't had any playback issues for the last 2 -3 hrs.  I have performed multiple edits and my played the last 30 minutes of my timeline fine.

here is my graphics card and specs

AMD Ryzen 7 9700X - 32GB Memory

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti 16GB

Question 1).......  Can anyone else provide insight as to why this issue kept even after all these fixes? Has anyone else experiencing this level of playback issues (regardless of the complexity of the project / timeline as this was happening to me even on extremely simple and complex timelines alike and differnet projects)

Question 2)..... Could the fact that I have 1 4K monitor connected via Display Port and and 4K HD TV connected via an HDMI ccable really be the problem?

ANY insight will help me!

Thank you everyone!

As for why Workspaces get corrupted ... I think that is probably a question for the Dev Team.

The Workspace Layouts are located in the Premiere Pro Profile folder specific to you as the User

Documents\Adobe\PremierePro\[Version Number]\Profile-[Username]\Layouts

They are .xml files.

eg: userworkspace_1.xml,  userworkspace_2.xml

As @MyerPj correctly points out, sometimes you have to 'rebuild' a favourite User Workspace that just won't reset. I've had that occasionally. Just delete the troublesome one afterwards within Premiere Pro.

I started with the Editing Default workspace and just modified that as required, then saved it as a new Workspace.

I've taken a back up and stored locally in case of future problems, but these are specific to the Premiere Pro version of course.

Finally - do you know that when you did a clean install of Premiere - did you select to keep old preferences or reset them?.

That's always one to potentially cause timeline issues.

If you want to reset,  hold down shift on starting Premiere Pro and select reset preferences. You will then have to set your prefs again.

There's another thread around about some issues with 5000 series cards, aren't quite yet optimized. I'm getting excellent performance on my 4070. I've rebuilt my workspace on occasion. I might select the All Panels option, then remove (close) the panels I don't want, while I move around the other panels to where I want them. If you are suspecting something there, it's worth a try. Clearing the cache is something I do often, I have a .bat file to simply remove those folders. At minimum I do it with every update, which is often, as I'm mostly using the beta version full time.

This can sometimes happen when you get corruption on the Workspace template.

I've had this several times.

Go back to your normal editing workspace and go to Window>Workspace >Reset to Saved Layout. See if that helps

As you changed your workspace to the Editing default and didn't have issues - that might point to a problem on your usual workspace. Worth a try.

You don't mention the support teams doing this so I assume it hasn't been tried.

I have 4K Monitors connected via Display and HDMI ports. That shouldn't cause any issue.

Thank you for your help! The 5th time I spoke to Customer Service, they tried this issue.  The problem actually was fixed for the longest, about 2 hrs, before I performed a simple edit and the playback issues continue.

I will try this again though as per your suggestion and get back to you.

Do you know how a workspace can be corrupted?

I apprecaite your assistance!

Also to note, this is a BRAND NEW computer, purchased at the end of April2025, so my machine is less than 5 months old.
