Question

Playback Lag CC 2020

Hello,

I've gotten premiere pro and tried to edit Minecraft videos in 1080p60. My video playback lags so much that it feels like my computer is going to crash. I have a fairly new GOOD computer with 16gb of ram. I've tried multiple things to fix it but nothing has worked well. I notice that in task manager it says that it is taking up 0% CPU. Is this usual and is there a fix to this problem?

thanks,

Drum // Jake

Were your videos recorded using OBS or some other screen recording software? Often times those videos are recorded in Variable Frame Rate which Premiere is not good at handling. You can attempt to transcode your videos using a third party encoder like Handbrake, or go into your OBS settings and change your recording format to CFR for future videos.

I am using OBS to record and I joined the discord server and asked if it runs on CFR and they said yes. They might be wrong though. I tried handbrake for a smaller less edited video and it worked a little. Ill give it a try and get back to you.

is there any reason why premiere is running at 0% CPU?
