Plugins in Premiere pro v 25.0 and 25.1 working slow and laggy in mac

Hi everyone,

In our office, we constantly use the Premiere Composer and Storyblocks plugins for Premiere Pro. The issue we're experiencing is that on the MacBook Pro M3 Pro, the plugins run slowly. Previews for each effect or preset lag, and the overall behavior when using the plugins is sluggish. However, Premiere itself works perfectly fine without any issues.

When using the plugins, everything inside the plugin window is slow, but the rest of Premiere functions without any problems.

Important note: Everything works fine with version 24 of Premiere Pro. The issue appears only in version 25, and all plugins are fully updated.

We've also cleared the cache for both Premiere Pro and Premiere Composer, but the problem persists.

Interestingly, the same version of Premiere Pro on Windows works flawlessly. The problem is only on Mac.

Any insights or solutions would be greatly appreciated!

Hey Jamie thanks for the quick response, i'm using latest version of both plugins, and tried with both versions of premiere pro 25.0 and 25.1 (since v24 was working well, thought it could be a 25.1 issue, but it persisted with 25.0)

I did notice that macOS was outdated so i'm updating that right now to see what happens

Neither Adobe nor BlackMagic nor Avid are responsible for the performance of third-party plugins within their apps. All three firms do work to enable such things, as "we" need them, of course.

But the responsibility for actual performance of any plug-in in any app rests with the maker of the plug-in.

I have the full Maxon/RedGiant Universe, Autokroma's BRAW plug-in, and things from several other makers. Occasionally there are issues. But it is always up to the maker to fix them.

Hi @santiagosas - As Neil has said it's good to check with the third party developer since they maintain their plugins.

What versions are you using?

just reached out to them as well, i suspect it could be an OS or a premiere problem tho since is a general thing with these 2 plugins and not a problem with only 1.

updating macOS at the moment as well.

Have you checked about this with the creator of the plugins?
