I put in 5-6 hours of editing a project on Wednesday (13th) and opened it up today and discovered that it not only didn't save what I know I had saved on Wednesday but there were ZERO autosaves. I thought I was going crazy for a minute but no it's just Premiere not doing it's job. This was the worst project to have this happen on. Literally combing through 2 hours of footage for 2-3 minutes of finished footage.

Ann's link is good to peruse. And I say that as someone with long professional experience using applications for business.
Premiere can at times be wonky on saves, as well ... has been my experience with so many apps over near 40 years of professional use of computers. I used to have dBase at times not do saves correctly. And ... name program after program.
So I learned years ago never to trust any application ... period.
Start with a manual save shortly after creating a new program. That also seems at times to job PrPro into doing the auto-saves.
Every time you do a major step, simply Ctrl/Cmd-S ... learn to do it without even thinking.
Daily ... may want to do the incremental saves, using Save-As, and move then to the new incremented project file. This gives you a trail of project files to go back to if you find corruption got in somewhere.

Thanks. The issue wasn't about how to save something. I saved it and had autosave on. The files are just gone or never populated in the first place. The original didn't update as saved and the autosaves are not there. There was more than enough time for autosave to do it's thing. I had it happen on a difffernt project earlier in the week but I didn't think much of it because I'd only made two minor edits. Then this happened and now I'm paying the price. I'm hoping the latest update that came out yesterday solves this bug.

Thanks Neil. I've learned the hard way as well on saving. I'm constantly hitting save. That's why this is so weird.

That sounds like either a file corruption issue or an OS permissions issue ... huh. And yea, weird and way past annoying.
