Premier Pro 2020 crash dvaaudiofilterscan

Since upgrading to Premier Pro 2020 there was an intermittent crash when opeining a project - now crashing all the time.

The project will open and start to load but never fully loads before it hangs - have to 'force quit' to shut it down.

dvaaudiofilterscan will come up now and then on my computer and I wonder if that's the problem. I've deleted Premier Pro (and settings) and re-installed it afresh, but it doesn't seem to have fixed the problem.

Have a big 70min documentary right at the last stages of post - really need this solved ASAP.

Go to your media cache/cache database files, and delete everything with Premiere closed.

Then create a new project in Premiere. In that project, from the Media Browser panel, navigate to the old project file and Import.

See if that works.

Hi dahlitz,

Sorry to hear this. Let us know the exact version of Premiere Pro that you are using. If after clearing the cache you are still getting this issue, try resetting app preferences and check if it's working properly.

Thanks,

Sumeet

Thanks Sumeet - seems the clearing of cache was the trick.

Hi Neil - I couldn't find that media cache so I did open Premier Pro and without loading a project cleared the cache from the preferences dialoge box. It seems to have worked - the project loaded and is seemingly working and unscathed!

Thanks.

Back to typing in 14K words into closed captions! (by the way, I'll have to search, but it seems closed captions are rather difficult to manipulate when further picture editing is done - i.e. can't move blocks of it around - anyway, don't expect and anwer here - I'll go searching).

Thanks again.

Matt
