For Decades .... I had Capture in Adobe Premier.   I get the impression Adobe wants me to spend more money on services that used to be beneficial to people.   This is sad.

Yes, the capture feature is removed: Tape-based workflows retired in Premiere Pro

 

Are you capturing tapes such as DV or HDV? You can use a third party tool for that, see link below:

I very rarely use legacy media capture and I just use an inexpensive USB with a chip for composite VHS, Any general capture utility. So in and of itself not a great loss. But it did occur to me; beside statistical usage decline was the capture functionality interfering with coding the advancing versions, requiring a lot of attention or some other practical reason. If not a code detriment was it only statistics that informed the decision?

 

Just philosiphizing as to the corporate asthetic.
