Premier Pro 25.0 Crash when exporting same for media encoder

Ok so I run on Sonoma 14.6.1 Apple M1 Max 32GB.

Premiere is working fine I can still edit and all...

Whenever I want to export either on H.264 / MOV / H.265 it crashes. Same if I pass trough Media Encoder.

One thing I can say it is not related to the fact that I updated to CC2025. I updated to CC2025 because on the previous version it crashed as well.

I tried to export my project on a windows computer, it is working fine.

In fact any project that I want to export from my mac crashes now.

Any help or workaround ?

Ok so I found the solution... and it is not pretty.

After checking the problem with Adobe Support (wich by the way are friendly) they told me it is a permission revoke issue. So the folder where the codec are, my permissions with my local Mac account are revoke, so it doesn't allow to use them.

Ok so let's create a root account and change that... well the Adobe Support change them and guess what... not working also.

They told me to check with Apple Support. So I did... After one hour of trying to change permissions, the guy told me to reinstall my OS (don't worry all your files are intact... and guess what?

Still not working.

The only thing that work is to create a new local account and there it work just fine to export. Not ideal because you need to connect all your services (with Mac, it is so well done that 95% of the job is done automatically). Copy all your files from the old account on a external HDD. Delete the files from your old accounts. Copy to the new one. Check if everything work. Delete your old account.

I'm experiencing the exact same problem. Everything was working fine but now I can't export anymore. Neither via Media encoder or as usual. I've tried all the steps above as well.

Do you have any processes or applications that are not running with the new user, that is a good way to narrow down what is affecting your exports.

I am having the same problem and know of at least one other person who is too. So this seems like it's emerging as a systemic bug, not an individual user problem. I spent days with adobe tech support and apple - the upshot of which was, after doing a clean reinstall of adobe creative cloud, AND my OS, I woudn up in the same position - only able to export from a new root user. Apple said go back to adobe it's clearly on them, adobe said tell apple this is on them. Now I'm stuck with this hideous mess and if I migrate my entire account to a new user it seems ineitable that i'll recreate the problem. Is there nothing more adobe can offer to help their users? I've never heard of this happening wth davinci... just saying....

Hi @IzzyKelly - Can you close Premiere and then navigate to Macintosh HD > Users > Shared > and then delete the folder "AdobeInstalledCodecsTier2". I see you are still using Premiere Pro version 24.6.1 Can you install the LTS version 24.6.4. and then launch Premiere Pro and let us know if that helps your issue.

i will do this. but i can assure you i double checked that i was using 2025 when i repoicated the crash before my last reply to you. i'll send a screenshot if that helps...

@jamieclarke Ok so I created a other user on my mac and now it is working well. So now I think it narrows the solution to do. Any Idea ?

@jamieclarke still have the problem after updating the Os, I run on Sequoia now 15.0.1 (24A348).

I'll do that in 10 minutes. Still waiting the update. I think it might be a problem linked to codec. H264 H264 and quicktime crash. But in H264 bluray disc (M4V files it is working)

Yeah every time that I want to export from my Mac.

From my computer running on windows no problem.

I'm making an update of my OS on mac to see if I get the same problem.

Hi @xXxeliottxXx - Can you try disabling TikTok Uploader and see if that helps your issue.

Hi @xXxeliottxXx - Do you have a consistent repro of this issue? When you export is it every setting or specific ones? Can you post a screenshot of your media file properties and your export settings.
