Premier Pro MOV file to M Disc Issue

Hello

Don't know who to ask. I do most of the film work using Premiere Pro so I need to ask here.

The results of the edited work were 10 films, around 8GB in size, MOV format.

The client wanted the films on a 100GB M Disc. Using  OWC Mercury Pro I copied the 10 films to a 100GB Verbatim M Disc. I then tested the finished disc on two computers. The films played fine, audio and video playing with no issues.

The client said he played the films (the 100GB M Disc) with the BluRay players and noticed that the audio would drop out, that the film didn't play smooth. That there were issues.

I use HP Workstations here at this location. The client uses MacBook with BluRay players.

It the issue with the 100GB four layered M Disc playing on specific BluRay players through a MacBook?

or possibly a processor issue? Struggling to determine the cause of the client's difficulties.

A 100GB M Disc is costly if those materials sent to the client fail to meet his expectations.

Thanks for any insight, advice !

Hello

If it is possible to continue this conversation.

My client is less than computer savvy. Suggested to Irwin that he copy from 100GB M Disc a MOV file to his Mac

Harddrive. It played perfectly. He uses two BluRay devices: OWC Mercury Pro and the Buffalo.  I did reseach on his computer.

The client is unfamiliar with Thunderbolt. I homeworked the computer with this information:
The client's MacBook Pro is:
MODEL A1398 EMC2876
OSX YOSEMITE VERSION 10.10
MACBOOK PRO (RETINA 15-INCH , MID 2014
SERIAL NUMBER: C02NT63DG3QC
I found there are two USB ports showing in the specs 'up to 5Gbps.'

Is there a specific Thunderbolt cable I need to choice from as I see Thunderbolt 3 Thunderbolt 4 listed.
When I have identified the Thunderbolt cable that will work with his MacBook Pro I can send him a link to purchase.

Thanks for any advise on making the best choice.

Gratitude
Sincerely

That's an old MBP. His USB ports are USB 3.0 at the data rate you specified. Thunderbolt 3 is USB-C on steroids; his TB ports are Thunderbolt 2.

I tried to find a TB2 male to USB3 female adapter, but I couldn't. Anywhere.

His best bet is to plug both usb cables on the Buffalo drive into his USB 3.0 ports and try playing the disc again.

Is the BD player on the MB compatible with M disks?

With a MacBook, the only way to play a disc of any kind is with an external drive connected via Thunderbolt. If your client has something like a Buffalo MediaStation drive, it has 2 connectors; one for data and one for power. If they aren't plugging in the power connection, there may not be enough juice to the drive to keep it spinning, reading and sending data from such a huge disc. The power thing is usually an issue for writing a disc, but with the triple-layer M-Disc it may be a issue for reading as well.

EDIT: Buffalo is one of the few reliable drive makers that support macOS. Buffalo MediaStation BD-XL Drive Datasheet
