Question

Premier Pro won't run on brand new MacBook Pro M3 Max Sequoia 15

I get this error message when I try to boot PPro 2024 and Media Encoder:

"You can’t open the application “Adobe Premiere Pro 2024.app” because this application is not supported on this Mac."

Just migrated from Previous MacBook Pro running Sonoma 14.5

It does run Lightroom Classic.

What is going on? Did I make a big mstake in "upgrading" to Sequoia?

Migration of Macs doesn't work for Adobe apps.

You need to install the CC App and then install your Adobe apps from there.

Use the Cleaner Tool and then do a proper installation:

Based on your steps, I still cannot open Premiere Pro 2024. It continues to show the message: “You can’t open the application ‘Adobe Premiere Pro 2024.app’ because this application is not supported on this Mac.” I’m using a MacBook Pro M3 Max running Sonoma 14.5.

Sorry I’m using a MacBook Pro M3 Max running OS X 15.0

Thanks Kevin. Really regretting breaking my own commandment regarding OS upgrades and waiting at least 90 days. I’ll look at the versions of PP, Media Encoder, Audition, etc., that are running on the “old” 2019 MacBook Pro, but they are all pretty much up to date. Lightroom Classic runs on the new machine.

Luckily I have kept that machine intact, so I can (hopefully) roll back Sequoia to Sedona 14.5 and re-migrate from old machine if necessary.

Thanks. I’ll try it tomorrow and let you know. I’m thinking I may have to roll the OS back to Sedona 14.5 if that’s possible.

Might want to use a different browser to download Premiere.
