I synchronize audio and video for an independent feature film that develops in one or two day shots every 3-5 weeks. With versions of Premiere Pro prior to the current one indicated everything has always gone smoothly. Importing MTS files generated by an AVCHD video camera, importing the audio files in WAVE format from the sound engineer and synchronizing them with the clapperboard. On April 25th I did the last job. Today I had to start the new one with the new shots but when importing the MTS files I discovered that Premiere Pro instead of the audio track of the file generates white noise at high volume for the entire duration of the clip, a clip that when viewed with VLC returns the correct audio content.
Fortunately I always keep two other previous versions when I update to a later version so I used 24.6.5 to create the new work project and in this the audio of the MTS files is imported and played correctly.
So I tried to import this project in version 35.3.0, no import errors, but when I press play it comes out again with loud white noise even though the audio track in the timeline visually shows the waveform drawing. What is Adobe doing? I think this whole AI thing has messed up the program.

Unfortunately, no. I have the beta 25.4 installed but when I imported an
MTS file, created a sequence from the clip and played it I always heard the
same white noise even though there was a waveform drawing in the audio
track of the timeline.

Our team is actively working on a fix, and we’ll update you as soon as the fix is available in the beta release. In the meantime, you may try installing Pr v25.2 to see if it helps. Thank you for your understanding.

No, this does not fix the audio codec issue, it simply works around the issue by using an older version than the current one that is causing problems. The solution is to fix the current version issue, not to use an old version.

Same problem here, I started a new project now in end of june, when started this issue. My project have a lots of camera sources, including Sony (MTS and MP4, MP3).
Searching for a solution I tried to convert my MTS files to MP4 (same of other cameras) and nothing... I belive it's something with a "drive" involving the process of the MTS file, becouse using the Adobe Encocoder and Audition to convert to another versions and... Same problem... becouse it use the same "work source file".
Opening the file in Audition the file has only the white noise.
