Premiere in pass-through mode to avoid quality loss

Hi there.

How to make Premiere work in pass-through mode with H264 and DTS (or PCM) 5.1?

To work in pass-through mode means to recode only edited video frames and audio samples.

The rest will simply be copied.

This allows to save centuries and, overall, to avoid quality loss due to recompression.

Tks.

What you're asking for is more of a "muxing" operation, and no, Premiere does not have that option.

h.264 doesn't automatically mean its long GOP. that only depends on if there's delta keyframes encoded. I didn't see h.264 in the list of SMART rendering codecs so I don't think its fully supported yet. If you just wanted to swap out audio without re-encoding, you could use the free shutter encoder that re-wraps the video/audio interleave data.

If you made any edit its impossible because h264 is long gop and at exporting it need to render a full frame every X frames.
