Premiere keeps Crashing

Can anyone help me?

Adobe keeps either crashing, playing the project with sound but the video is frozen or saying pending media within my Project. It seems like it could be with one specific file. So I'm wondering if my pc isn't powerful enough for this file and it is just a delay(All my hardware resource is using about 10% when this happens though). All the issue usually last over 30 seconds.

PC Spec:

Windows 10 Pro

Intel Core i7-8700k

32GB of RAM

Nvidia Geforce GTX 1060 6Gb

C: 256GB SSD (OS & Adobe Preimere Version 12.1.2)

P: 512 M2 SSD (Project drive where the video is stored)

😧 512 M2 SSD (Cache & Scratch disk)

Details of the file that seems to be causing it:

3.13GB

3840x2160

29.97 frames/sec

Thanks in Advance.

I tried Proxy and it started work for a bit but then the same issue occurred. I just deleted the clip from Adobe and readded it everything seems fine now with the proxy turned on.

Hi jamieb3363089,

Sorry to hear that you are facing this issue. The media pending graphics may appear, if Premiere is still trying to load the media or the cache files have been corrupted. You may try the steps mentioned in this article to clean the cache and then check if its helping or not.

https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2152942

Also, if you are facing issues with playback performance, wherein the playback is dropping too many frames or the playback is stuck for quite a while, then you may try reducing the Playback Resolution to 1/2 or 1/4 and check if its playing back better.

If you are still facing playback performance issues, then it could be that the system is not able to process all the frames required for playback in real time and is causing the frames to be dropped. In these cases you may try using the Proxy workflow. You may refer to this article know more about Proxy workflow

https://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/kb/ingest-proxy-workflow-premiere-pro-cc-2015.html

Also, in case if you have issues specific to any particular media then you may transcoding the media and then use this transcoded media in Premiere and check if its working better.

Hope you find it useful, let us know if you have any questions.

Thanks for your email. Just to let you know, I talked to your help desk. The solution to fix the problem was to disable my Intel video driver. I have a second Nvidia driver that has to be enabled but Premiere apparently will not work with both enabled. I have seen this is a known problem for some users. The problem exists even with the most current Intel video driver installed. If you know of a fix that will allow Premiere to run while keeping both drivers installed, I would appreciate you advising.

Thanks,

Bob McCormick

Try using proxies.
