sooo frustrated. I just bought a motion graphics template from adobe, and I can NOT add it into the timeline once I've imported it. When I click to drag it just has a circle with line through preventing me to add in and then edit.

I'm having the exact same issue. I recently updated to 2020 and now it seems that Premiere won't allow me to select any .mogrt files that I purchased/installed before the update. Thumbnails for these graphics don't appear in the graphics panel andAs OP stated, when I try to drag&drop over one of these graphics, Premiere just gives me a crosshair selection tool, as opposed to the green ball/crosshair, so I can't pull the graphic over to my timeline (see screenshots).

I'm guessing that it's a compatibility issue with .mogrt's made for previous versions? If that's the case - kind of annoying that I can't use "older" .mogrt versions, especially ones that I purchased. Are there any solutions for this issue?

I'm having this same problem.  I had purchased some graphics templates and now when I try to use them, I can't see them to edit them and it just says "media pending". Is there a solution to this? I tried to re-upload them to the graphics panel and that didn't help.  Its super frustrating when new updates render previous things unusable.  Should I just be editing in 2019 instead?

Ive noticed you have to have media inserted first then you can drag motion graphic to timeline.  But today, I can't edit the graphics...it is just one thing after another!

Did you check if the mogrt was compatible with 2020?

Post link to mogrt.

Make sure you have a sequence started, likely by dragging any clip to the timeline. You can then remove it if you want, but you should then be allowed to drop in a mogurt.
