Premiere pro 2021 can't export as mp4

So after updating to PP v22, I can no longer export as an mp4 using the H.264 format, which is what I've always used in the past. Every time I try, I get an error code.  I even tried queuing it through Media Encoder and get the same error code.

Does anyone know a workaround? I hate having to export using Avi format, because then my Dell can't play it back.

I'm also on a Win10 PC, and exporting from PrPro and Me in H.264 or any other format/codec without issue. So ... nailing what's going on with yours is something that needs done. And as there are a number of issues like this with exporting to H.264 they need to get something sorted out here.

UPDATE: So I tried restarting my computer and clearing the media cache as others suggested, and still getting the error. No joy. Here's the error message I keep getting (oh and I am exporting as H.264/Vimeo 1080p Full HD). I tried doing High Bitrate and same result.

I think I'm just going to uninstall the update at this point until Adobe can get itself together.

Does it always give the same time-code? If so, what's going on right there?

And you can run with 15.4 (2021) with the 2022 version installed, and check when they update it to see if it's working better on your rig.

I'm on a PC, Win21H1, PPv22, I can export from both the program and ME, to h.264 match, high bitrate. The audio rendering is pretty slow to happen, but the video speeds along nicely.

Do, delete your cache before (or very shortly after) every update:

• Start PP from it's normal desktop icon (IE: don't open from a project file link).
Close the Open/Home screen (and you will be in PP without a project open).
• Go into Edit/Preferences/Media Cache (Mac users adjust menu name)
• Then Press: Remove Media Cache Files: and Delete...
• Select: Delete all media cache files from the system and OK
Close PP - It will create any needed cache files on the fly as you edit.

Hi - I am having the same issue. What have you done instead to export? Like which settings?

I've been exporting as an avi for the past couple of projects, which is okay, as Vimeo accepts avi format. It's just not ideal for what I use PP for.

Are you getting the same error as I am?

You might choose to stay on the 15.x for any paying clients for now. I'm working 22.x fine on my machine, but clearly some aren't. It's always wise if you have paying clients to continue working with the older major version and test the newer version until it proves stable in your workflow needs.

Issues like this will get sorted but it might take several days or weeks.
