Premiere Pro 2021 crashes my GPU drivers

Upon updating to the newest version of Premiere Pro 2021, I ran into quite a major issue.

See, whenever I'm using Premiere Pro, after 10-15 minutes, my PC's video output suddenly freezes for a couple seconds, and then the screen goes black with the monitor saying "No signal detected".

The PC doesn't stop working, it's just the image, I'm still hearing audio and everything works, I just don't get any signal from the GPU, replugging the cables doesn't work. I can't get any signal, unless I restart my PC with the button on the case, the Event Viewer even logs that the PC has been restarted without properly being shut down.

I tried switching to the STUDIO drivers, it worked, for 2 days, then the issue started happening again.

I tried starting Premiere Pro as administrator, it didn't work.

This only happens with the 2021 versions of Premiere Pro, and only Premiere Pro, this doesn't happen with any other Adobe application, and any older versions of Premiere Pro.

I contacted Adobe, they said that I should contact NVIDIA about the issue. I contacted NVIDIA, they said that I should use DDU to completely clean the drivers, then reinstall. It didn't work.

I don't know what else I can do to fix the issue, I like using the 2021 version of Premiere Pro, because it feels faster than the 2020 version.

Please if you have any ideas, write them down below!

Hi there, unfortunately I'm a LITTLE late to the party but I was facing this EXACTLY same problem, here a couple of things that worked and didn't worked in the long run:
To clear off a few things, I use a Ryzen 9 3900x, RTX 3070 and 32 GB RAM, 1TB SSD, 750W.

My PC is very very high end and it bugs me that this error happens because it took a lot of money to get it, hah.
1: This error is very much associated with Premiere version OR the driver studio version. That said, I had no problem with this when I had my GTX 1070 and old Premieres.
2: It only happens when I'm editing. I've already played dozens of games with ultra settings, done MULTIPLE 3D renders that would make any regular PC go boom and sadly it only happens when I'm editing any kind of material, it can be a very simple one and a very heavy one.
3: Whenever happens, I just turn off and on my monitor and the error goes away. So thats basicaly 10-15 seconds wasted during my work time.
4: This only happened with me with NEWER versions of Premiere. Don't ask me why. I know you contacted Adobe and NVIDIA but I never ever had this problem with the 2020 versions.

So I would suggest you take a 2019/2020 version and stick with it, simply because they are more stable. Of course you can lose some features with the new ones but I think it is better to don't have this error during editing time.

INTIX,

Sorry. What kind of footage are you editing? That is important to know. If the footage is non-performant, (which these days is almost all video), you have to address that in addition to your computer's hardware. If your media is highly compressed, have you considered using proxies? AMD CPUs do not have Quick Sync so proxies are sometimes necessary, if the footage is H.264. Give us info on that so we can help.

Another thing you can absolutely try is to disable hardware decoding in Preferences > Media. Be sure to reboot after testing with the boxes unchecked for GPU decoding.

Thanks,
Kevin

Hey, I edit regular .mp4 files, what OBS records.

I disabled hardware decoding in Preferences, and Premiere Pro seems to be working just fine so far, I have been using it for an hour. I'll reply if the issue reappears again.

Thank you!

I forgot to include my configuration:

OS: Windows 10 Pro 20H2

CPU: Ryzen 5 3600

GPU: RTX 2060 Super

RAM: G.Skill 4x8 GB 2400 MHz (32GB)

PSU: FSP 700 W Hyper M

I also a 3 TB Western Digital HDD, and a OCZ Trion 240 SSD. Windows and every Adobe application is on the SSD.
