Premiere Pro 2022 keeps crashing on splash screen when loading plug-in ImporterQuickTime.prm

Question

I have closed background apps, checked in task manager and no other concurrent premiere pro items open. Have restarted several times. It seems to be crashing on the splash screen everytime it hits that plug-in.

I am using Windows.

Anyone having this issue or know what to advise? I've seen a suggestion online that I should access a folder called Mediacore, which I can't locate anywhere and delete the particular plug-in.

Hi janeyd,

You are correct to check out your plugins folder to see what the problem might be. Check out C:\Program Files\Adobe\Common\Plug-Ins\7.0\MediaCore\

See if you have any plugins there that might need to be updated and either update or install them. If you are still having issues after trying that step, do let us know, OK?
