Premiere Pro 2023 Update Has Issues With Third party Plug-Ins

I recently updated to premiere pro 2023 and all of my plugins no longer showed up. I tried resetting the plugins cache and reinstalling all of my plugins from motion array but it didn't work. The only solution that I have found was to revert back to premiere pro 2022. Just thought I would throw that out there since I couldn't find a fix.

Same thing happened to me. I lost all my camera luts, red giant plugins and motion array stuff. I spoke with adobe tech support and they wer useless. I spent a week color grading a project and my fear is that i will have to redo. I reenstalled older version but when 2023 updated it got rid of all the plugins and luts so even going back to older version still puts me back to square one. Please if anyone has any ideas, it would be great.

Hi Andy,

Major updates also require updates to plug-ins, so check the Red Giant and Envato websites for incompatibilities. Some get into trouble with LUTs because they install them in the app package, which is incorrect. Here's the protocol to follow for properly installing your LUTs. If you can wait a couple of weeks before updating, that's always recommended. That way, you can avoid pitfalls others face with early adoption. I hope the advice helps. Sorry for the pain points. I have PP2022 as well as PP2023 loaded on my Mac Studio CPU. All my BorisFX plugins and Magic Bullet plugins work fine when I am working in PP2022. As others have said, in PP2023 none of these plugins show up. Obviously, Adobe has changed something in the effects architecture between the 2022 versions and 2023 versions. If it is true, from what you have said, that you expect your installed base of users to upgrade all of their plugins on each major PP revision, this is unacceptable. Most professional editors I work with have invested thousands of dollars in their plugins per edit suite. Expecting them to reinvest that amount of money each time Adobe comes up with a major version revision is not only impractical but an example of very bad marketing on Adobe’s part. As it is, I am consistently having to defend my use of Premiere Pro to some of my clients, as they expect me to be editing on Avid Media Composer, which I also own and am expert in, this just might be a deal breaker. I might add that Avid does not have this problem with plugins between versions of their software. I really want to keep using PP as my main editing software because there is so much to recommend it, but if this example of lazy programming and disregard of the loyal customer base is going to be Adobe’s attitude, then I will have to reconsider my decision in the future. Please fix this issue.
