Premiere Pro 2025 won't open because it needs access to 'Home' folder, but it has full disk access?

I have tried everything uninstalling, turning it off and turning it back but nothing is working. I saw somebody had the same issue last year and was able to fix it. I am unable to fix it. When I go to security and privacy preferences it is greyed out. I attached screen shot. It shows that I have full access to the disk but still can't open up premiere pro.

Hey there, Brian,

Thanks for the added info. Yes, the Home folder is hidden from view by default. Here's some steps you can take to reveal it so you can check the folder permissions there:

  • See: https://adobe.ly/3Tl6Kto
  • Note in the screenshot the the "Home" folder is also the User Name. So, the Home folder in my case doesn't say Home in the Finder Side bar or when I press Shift + Command + H. It's my username, which IS the Home folder. In the Go Menu, you should see a folder called Home in the menu. The username folder will appear.
  • Once the folder appears, do a Command + I to check the permissions.

I hope the advice helps. Let us know.

Thanks,
Kevin

Hi Brian,

Thanks for the message. Everything looks correct. Can you also check folder permissions? See this post: https://adobe.ly/43Wzc9X. Let us know if that was the issue.

Thanks,
Kevin

Permissions are set to read and write. There is no folder called home, where is that supposed to be? When I check other computers in our office they don't have home folders.
