Premiere Pro 23.4 Unstable / Not usable

Hi,

I have two ongoing projects started in 23.3. When installing 23.4 I get a spinning ball in one project and on the other laggy clicks -> spinning ball. Crash on rendering in and outs.

I do not have Blackmagic Desktop Video installed.

Macbook Pro M1 Max

Ventura 13.3.1

Best,

Randy

Instead of opening it in the new version, try creating a new project in 23.4 and then import the 23.3 project into it.

Numerous people on this forum are reporting stability / performance issues on M1 Macs in 23.4

Hi @rlr29711,

Thanks for the post and the update. My colleague and I both updated macOS and tried to reproduce the issue on our M1 MacBook Pros. We tried, but could not. Sorry about that.

It would be great to try and track down what is different on your system compared with ours. Do you have any third-party plug-ins installed? If so, have you tried starting up Premiere with the Shift key held down and disable plug-ins in the Reset Options dialog box? Give it a shot and report back with your findings.

Does the same thing occur with a new project or an updated one? If it's updated, it's possible that the project may be corrupt. In that case, the thing to try is to create a new project and import the previous one into it. Are things then working as expected?

I hope we can find the uncover the culprit behind this error ASAP. I apologize for the frustration.

Thanks,
Kevin

I am glad that it was a test.

You should never update when working on a project.

I'm fully aware of that, it was a test.
