Premiere Pro Autosave not working properly

I like to choose "same as project" location for my AutoSave files in premiere pro. Sometimes it's saving the Autosave files in C:\Users\Name\AppData\Local\Temp even though I chose a different location while creating a new project. Has anyone found the reason why Premiere Pro is doing this and the solution to fix this?

I don't recommend that.  I have my autosaves in my backup drive.

I suggest resetting preferences:

  1. Hold down: Alt/Options on Mac or Alt on (Windows) while the app is opening
  2. Keep holding down the Alt key, and click on the Premiere Pro app icon to open it.
  3. In a few seconds, it asks you “Are you sure you want to reset your preferences?”. Click OK.
