I am using Premier Pro 14.2 to capture video off a Magewell card and have got it working well.
Playback is good on video and audio except for subject matter (me doing classroom lectures during COVID).
Small issue: I am capturing at 1920 x 1080 and capture monitor window is square. How do I change it to have same aspect ratio as input/output? I have checked preferences and found nothing. I have changed resolution. Again, no joy. I am positive this is a simple issue I have overlooked. Any ideas?
Thank you.

Kinda wacky, Scott. I am an old timer, so I love q's like this.
What codec are you capturing to?
Show us a screen capture of the card's settings. I'm curious too.
Cheers,
Kevin

I have the same issue with a trial version of Premiere Pro and a Magewell usb capture card, capturing old home videos at 1280x720. The videos turn out fine but the capture window is distorted (square):
