Premiere Pro CC 2015.3 Error Stop Driver NVIDIA

Hello, after the upgrade to Premiere Pro CC 2015.3, any project that is with CUDA enabled it to video drive.

I open the project, and loaded all the content, the NVIDIA driver for works and the screen "Program" my workspace is all black with only the audio function. If I change my project to work with the Software invez CUDA, he returns to work, put in CUDA I have very quickly in my tasks.

How do I solve this problem?

I've tried everything, reinstall driver, I have done testing with 3DMark to see if it was not the video card. Everything is alright.

In Adobe Media Encoder, CUDA works perfectly, just in Premire of this error.

Grateful;

Amauri

FYI.  I'm still using older drivers, v331.82 on dual Quadro K2000, Ultra Key/Fx's in 2015.3 is working without issue.

I HAVE A SUGGESTIVE INQUIRY FOR YOU GUYS THOUGHTS...

Ok... so first off, Im working on MAC OS (EL CAPITAN) and I have AE 15.3 update, but I still also have the AE15 folder.

1) If I copied and pasted ALL my drivers, presets, plug-ins, etc. back to the folder for AE 15, would I be able to use the GPU render option in the previous AE version?

2) If I DO NOT have AE 15 installed anymore, after I updated to AE 15.3, HOW DO I RE-INSTALL the previous version? Where is the DMG file or whatever?

- Is that something I should ask ADOBE through my CC account?

- Has anyone done that?

3) My CUDA drivers worked PERFECTLY in the previous version for 3D rendering... so if it's possible to have BOTH versions of After Effects, I could do the 3D stuff on the older version, render out, export and bring the files into the NEW AE 15.3 version.... is that possible?

ANY THOUGHTS??

Hello good morning to everyone.

I'm also having the same problem:

IN VERSION 2015.3 and 2015.4 VIDEO BOARD NOT ACCEPT AND HARDWARE RENDERING MODE IS NOT ENABLED.

Surely this is not a driver issue because on the same computer with Premiere CC 2015.2 no problem and use the rendering hardware normally.

The solution adopted is to have both versions of Premiere installed on the computer.

I hope in the next update of the software this problem is fixed.

With creative cloud, once we've updated... how do we re-install the previous version? is that option possible? Thanks so much if you can help me!

Hi,

Just get the nvidia 372.54 update and now problem has change...

No kernel panic or crash but when using CUDA acceleration, but I don't feel any "acceleration". Why ?

My PC :

i7 4770k

GTX 1070

32 Gb RAM

PS: When exporting or doing edit with CUDA acceleration my CPU is on 100% usage and my GPU about 5%...

A new update just came in for both NVIDIA and Adobe. I'm not running a PC but everything works great now on my late 2012 Power Mac running CUDA driver. Try updating both drivers and Adobe update. Rollback if it fails.

Hi !

From France, on my PC running there is no updates avaliable for Adobe or Nvidia.

I'm stuck with the 2015.3 (build 202) and Nvidia 368.81.

a secret link ?

This is the secret link to the 368.95, a patch for Pascal users but no change for me ...

I rolled back my version 15.3 to CC 2015. After days of trying to re-program and hack Adobe to work with CUDA and my GeForce 980 ti card on a 2011 Powermac I bult I simply gave in and rolled back. I should never have done an update in the middle of editing a TV show. 22 Episodes to be exact. Adobe makes it so tempting to hit the "update all" button inside the creative cloud app. Ahhh, NO NO NO!!!

I will tell you that the Adobe 15.3 version of After Effects or Premier does not JIVE with older GPU powered macs at this time. I rolled back to CC2015 however when I went to 15.3 my working files won't open in CC 2015 now,.. oops.?? I'll have to figure that out next. The update worked fine on my iMac 5K Retina but not my Big Daddy that is loaded to the tilt. There is simply no comparison in rendering when it comes to using The CUDA driver with a high powered video card, a ton of RAM and SSD drives which allows After Effects to really fly in the GPU Accelerated mode. It literally takes 3 hours to render an hour long green screen production as apposed to 24hrs on my iMac 5K.

I would like to say to all the furious people blaming Adobe for this situation that I don't blame you as this update cost me a couple thousand in Billable hours but I would like to say keep it clean and try not to push blame. I have multiple system in my office, some even running Mountain Lion just so I can pull old Final Cut files from TV Episodes we ran years ago so that I can re purpose scenes.  As mad scientists we just have to use our heads and think logically before we push that upgrade btn and blame some people that in actuality have made me personally... a grip of money. Thanks Adobe!

Experiencing the same issue, however only with one particular project. Two other active ones using pretty much the same build (DSLR footage shot on green screen, Ultra Key, Lumetri Colour, some dynamic links to AE) are working fine. Project settings seem to be identical too.

I've tried rolling back the Nvidia drivers to the only previous one available for the GTX1070 but still had the same issue, now they're back to the newest ones. I've not tried rolling back Creative Cloud as of yet as I wont be able to open the others on an older version?

Is this a bug because of the new update (2015.3)

OS: Windows 10

GPU: GTX 1070

Same problem on Hackintosh and normal Mac, UltraKeyer and CUDA projects break everything and the GPU even starts trashing the screen. Only happens with Premiere, pushing GPUs (780 + Titan) on Resolve and others bring no artifacts at all.

I also upgraded from 2015.2 to 2015.3 and I got this message.

“This project was last used with Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration (CUDA). which is not available on this system. Mercury Playback Engine Software Only will be used.”

Apparently Premiere Pro no longer recognizes my Nvidia Quadro FX 3800 card. I’m in the middle of some spots that need to get edited for TV. This is a disaster. Any quick fix ideas? Thanks!

Rule of thumb.  Never Upgrade/update while in the middle of an important project.

Did you update the GPU drivers in the process?  Roll back the drivers to a previous version that worked.  Otherwise, roll back PPro to 2015.2 until this gets sorted out.

Hi Amauri,

How do I solve this problem?

I've tried everything, reinstall driver, I have done testing with 3DMark to see if it was not the video card. Everything is alright.

Sorry for the frustration. I think the issue is not with Premiere Pro but with the latest NVIDIA drivers, which do not work well with legacy GPUs. Do not run the GPU with the newer drivers, use the previous ones and see if you get more predictable results.

Thanks,
Kevin

I also have been dealing with the same thing all day, with looming deadlines to boot! I've also noticed that if you disable hardware acceleration, the media appears to load properly. That's the only temporary solution that I have been able to find.

I chatted with a support rep this morning who suggested I share my screen to try and further diagnose the problem. After almost two hours of trying everything imaginable, the rep simply stopped responding or trying to fix the problem. After several "Hey, are you there?" messages, I finally disconnected and decided to give up. Not a great impression of customer support, Adobe...

While we were trying to figure out a solution, I would be greeted with this error when trying to switch from software only to GPU acceleration: "Display driver NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver, Version 368.39 stopped responding and has succesfully recovered." The rep mentioned that my GPU wasn't processing frames fast enough, which could be the root of the problem. I call BS on that, though. I ran a unigine heaven benchmark on my GPU right after our conversation and was scoring in the high 1400s consistently on ultra settings at 1920x1080, with consistent playback of 40-60 fps.

So, that leaves me in the same boat as you. I've thought about trying to install the last version of Premiere before 2015.3, but haven't gotten around to it yet.

Hopefully this gets resolved soon...

For reference, I'm running the following with up-to-date drivers:

Windows 10 Pro

AMD FX8350 4.34 GHz

NVIDIA GeForce GTX980

32GB RAM

Samsung SSD 850 EVO 500G

Upon further investigation, it appears that in my case, rendering out intensive effects (ultra key, in my case) causes the "Display driver NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver, Version 368.39 stopped responding and has succesfully recovered."GPU error to pop up. After I removed the effect, the sequence exported just fine, but playback still produces nothing but audio with black program and source monitors.

Same to me, i have updated the drivers from nvidia as well, dont know what is the problem but mercury engine playback in gpu mode displays only a black image. In software mode there is image. What a huge setback... Hope Adobe resolves this quickly.

Do not count on Windows to be fully up to date when it comes to device drivers

Go to the vendor site to be sure you have an updated driver for your graphic adapter

•nVidia Driver Downloads http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

Also, I have read of problems with the 368 series of driver, with the solution being going back to the 365 series

John, already tried this procedure. Updated my driver and the problem continued. Then I uninstalled completely and yet the problem continued.

Thank you
