Premiere Pro: consistently not seeing bounding box or motion path of content in output window

Almost everytime I use the program now I see no bounding box on my content. This is just the basic corners for scalling, nor the bounding box for any mask. I also never see the position motion path. My content moves like I programmed, and masks like I programmed, but I don't see the blue to help me edit either feature.
