Premiere Pro constantly crashing when edge trimming

I am on a Macbook pro with High Sierra

When edge trimming a video clip or an audio clip Premiere Crashes. This is so annoying and it's preventing me from getting anything done.

Is this happening to anyone else? Does anyone know of a fix for this?

If this is a bug and it cannot be fixed, I'd like to ask Adobe for a full refund on the license. It's just impossible to use the software!

I've managed to solve it. It was an issue with the mp3 file which was on the timeline. Weird! I just had to delete it from the timeline and then re-add it.

There was nothing wrong with the file, I didn't even have to re-import it in the library.

I am surprising about how buggy Premiere Pro is. The bug was so annoying a preventing me from doing anything! Just as well that I've managed to solve it

how do I know which mp3 file, or which file period is causing the crash??  Is it just a matter of deleting files one by one until you find the problem, which doesnt seem that practical since I have like a couple hundred files in my project bin, or am I looking for a file with specific criteria that would make it problematic. Every time I try to trim an image file, crash.... Please help!

hi guys. I am trying to find a way to stop Premiere Crashes. Since Ive updated to 2018 version I am crashing. First was creating a new composition. So Ive updated my drivers then ive solved it but now when I try to drag a simple trimmed comp in the same timeline my premiere crashes. I need to do CTRL+C and then CTRL+V in order to avoid crash.

I am working Premiere 2018 in Windows 10.

Someone is getting the same problem? I am reporting every crash to adobe.

This seems like a systemic bug — please report it so Adobe can get on it. For a while Adobe Staff have been denying that this doesn't exist in the forums. It seems like enough of us are posting about this that it is more common than they had thought.

Maybe change the name to Adobe Crash?

I had contact with Adobe about the issue, shared a project file with them- but this was back in CC16/CC17.

I'm not sure what is causing your crashes, but mine were all related to my custom window layouts - and it took me forever to figure that out. The 3 other editors at the same facility never had the problems I did, so it's hard to figure out.

In the case I mentioned, the "Metadata" panel window seemed to be part of the problem as well, so I've since removed it. I only use it when logging footage anyhow.

I have not had the problem since, so good luck to all you experiencing issues since CC2018

I had similar issues. Try using a different window workspace, and ensure that your windows are set to 'Maximized"

I ended up having to rebuild my workspaces from the default. Also closed the metadata window...

    Hope that helps,
