    Dear all on this topic

This is horrible - I feel for you as I wasted hours on Adobe Support chat lines on this subject.

Basically in my mind what Adobe have done is questionable, but you will waste your time fighting it.

If you have paid for a valid licence for CS6 back in those dark days - then it does not matter at all that it is now out of Support ..... you cannot get the 6.0.5 Updates.

I agree with Adobe they cannot give active support on the Software now as it is end of life, but does that also include the right to remove valid updates download ?

The world of legally licencing software, its use and download rights is a nightmare so don't even go there.

Updates 6.0.5 for Premiere and update 6.0.2 for Encore were to my knowledge the last valid updates issued to support the software (that you purchased).

I strongly request Adobe make these valid small update links available again just for download to customers with a Full CS6 licence though - is that possible?

On download a customer just ticks a box to acknowledge (and accept)  that there is no Adobe support on that Software update other than downloading it. Maybe they are asked to enter their licence before releasing it .. Seems sensible doesn't it?.

As regards the mess everyone finds themselves in - after all the work I did, I concluded that you cannot have CS6 in a Creative Cloud environment and expect the Updates to work anymore under the 'Help/Updates' heading in the Software.

You physically need the ZIP file updates to update Premiere CS6 to 6.0.5. as Adobe seem to have removed the files from whatever servers they use.

I even tried installing CS6 in a seperate Windows Partition all on its own (without Creative Cloud) and I could not get the Updates function to work on that. So what Stan suggests below that it will update via the internal Updates mechanism is questionable, but again I might be wrong.

The only way I found to solve this is to physically get the 6.0.5 ZIP file.

Adobe customer support did eventually send me download links (ZIP and an Excutable exe file which Unzipped and put Code in Correct folders ready to run SetUp).

The Premiere CS6 version is still at 6.0.0 though and not 6.0.5, however Encore installed with the correct 6.0.2 updated version.

I would suggest you send a request to Adobe Customer Support asking for those 4 Links - they still exist, but there may be legal implications if I post these here ?.

At least you can get Encore to 6.0.2 level with all the full Library content if you need it.

I only occasionally use Encore CS6 now, but use the very latest Creative Cloud Suite.

This CS6 mess does leave a bad impression on current  (and potentially) future customers.

We don't really need this sort of disruption that Adobe have caused valid fee paying customers who bought Premiere CS6 with a 'Perpetual Software Licence' several years back.

Unfortunately the word 'Perpetual' however, can have a 'grey meaning' for the legal world and  don't recall any warning on the DVD packaging that said  it might end ....sometime....whenever .........I'm sure it's there in the small print though,  you know,  the stuff so small you can't read it.

    Thanks for your thoughts.

As several people have mentioned in this thread as well as in related conversations, there appears to be no way to get the Premiere Pro CS6 final updates (6.0.5). I will have to live with Premiere Pro 6.0.0 and whatever bugs exist in it. At least all my other CS6 Production Premium apps have their "final" versions.

I do find it odd and curious why Adobe allowed for all of my other CS6 apps, except for Premiere Pro, to properly update to their final versions by using the Help..Update and related Application Manager feature. What is it about Premiere Pro 6.0.5 that they don't want us to have it? Perhaps this final update was problematic or buggy.

I will never know as Adobe seems silent on this matter.

If Windows, be sure you're running all apps (and maybe look at the installer/update app) "as administrator." Clean Windows install since using the cloud? etc.

I don't know; those are the sorts of things I'd consider.

    Thanks for reporting.

That is not good. But check this: when you pick updates, and, I assume you now get  a message that "Your applications are all up-to-date as checked...,." click "Preferences" and ensure that PR is checked as included. I wonder if you can force anything by deselecting all but PR?

Yes, the final (Windows at least) version was 6.0.5.

If you plan to use it, the final Encore version was 6.0.2 (for Mac 6.0.1). Did Encore update?

Thanks for your feedback Stan. Answering your questions: Yes, I get the message that "Your applications are all up-to-date as checked..." as you thought. Yes, Premiere Pro is checked as included (along with all other apps) in Preferences. I tried your idea of unchecking all apps except for Premiere and clicking updates again, but it makes no difference. Premiere is still version 6.0.0. And yes, Encore did update to version 6.0.2.004. As best as I can tell, all my programs have been updated to their final released versions except for Premiere.

I understand that Premiere had five undates that included several bug fixes. I am really hoping that I can somehow get the 6.0.5 release.

Any other ideas of how I could go about this?

    Thanks again.

    Old_Bean,

I don't see any threads at the moment, but we have reports that the update process John points to was still working recently.

Do do not get a download file: but it will update.

Open PR. Under Help, pick "updates." The Adobe App Manager or somesuch loads (not the Creative Cloud). It checks for updates. (I know this was working last week. My CS6 installs showed as "up to date.") If it has an update, it "should" work.

    Let us know.

    Thanks for your response Stan.

Yes, my CS6 did update per the mechanism you describe and it also shows as
"up to date" for all applications. However, I compared each application's
revision (shown in Help.About) to the final released update shown on each
Application's individual download update page. All my Apps are the "final"
version, except for Premiere Pro. It should be 6.0.5, but shows as 6.0.0 in
    Help.About.

When it did update via the Application Manager, there were updates listed
under Premiere Pro for some components (like Media Encoder), but it appears
that this update did not include the application itself.

Non of the links for either CS6 or Encore work. Error 404.

Can Adobe stop messing around with Creative Cloud Customers and those with a paid Retail version of these programs - ie why on earth do we need to go through the pain of contacting an Agent to download something that we have paid for ?.

Yes - to repeat again - we all understand no support is given beyond our ability to download it - but if you have a need to re-image your Video Editing PC as I have just done, I can't get the very last updates for either CS6 or Encore.

The links the Agent did give me did not have the last updates published. Why not ?

As a reminder - if you did allow access to these links you would (a) not waste customer's time - or (b) waste time of an Agent repeating the process every time. Freeing up Agent queues and keeping customers happy !.

    Common sense isn't it?

I am currently in the same position that JonesVid was in back in October. I just re-installed CS6 Production Premium due to the expense of maintaining my Creative Cloud subscription now that I have retired. With re-installing CS6, I learn that the Application manager does not update all apps to their final revision and that not all of the updates are available for download (specifically Premiere Pro). After two chats with Adobe techs I am told the "best option" is to subscribe to Premiere CC! This attitude is certainly not serving the customer (one who has 31 programs purchased and registered with Adobe over the years)! And to top it off, Adobe claims my case is "resolved" under support history. Unbelievable!

    You said it right JonesVid!

The ONLY way to search for updates now is from within the program via the help screen popup

There is nothing anyone here can do to provide links or get Adobe to restore the downloads

As of 8-19-19 downloads for non-Cloud programs are back
The updates page is back https://www.adobe.com/gr_en/downloads/updates.html
But it has at least some links that do not work

    Program installers https://www.adobe.com/gr_en/downloads/other-downloads.html
If you are not able to find your program installer at 'other-downloads' read below
    .
    IMPORTANT NOTE:
The process below WILL NOT WORK if you have a (CS6 or earlier) serial number for an education or volume version, since the only downloads now available are the retail installers, which DO NOT work with an education or volume serial number
    .
    Go to https://www.adobe.com/about-adobe/contact.html
-click on the Chat bot on the bottom right hand corner of the first screen
--the chat bot is the circle with a funny looking box with 3 dots inside
-click on Downloading or Installing, then type Agent
    .
Do NOT let the support agent tell you to come to the forums for help... no user in a public forum has access to Adobe's internal links, you MUST obtain the program and update links from Adobe support
    .
AND when you finally do have a download link, be sure to copy every file you download to an external drive (or 2 or 3) so you never have to hunt for download links if they are moved again... also make a text file containing ALL of your serial numbers and copy that file as well
