Question

Premiere Pro, edge of subject are not smooth at all

I notice that the edges of the most subjects in my timelie (look at the picure I attached ,glasses or edge of fingers) appear jagged and not smooth, Specially in moving subject. This issue occurs consistently regardless of the playback resolution or export settings I try.

Here are some additional details about the problem:

  • I have checked that my project settings match the resolution of my footage.

  • Rendering the video in high quality or using different export settings does not resolve the issue.

  • clear the cache
  • Priveiw quality is Full . Prores 422

I would appreciate any guidance or solutions you can provide to help resolve this issue.

I uploaded the seq setting and one of my clip info which has been shoot by a7m3 Sony.

I am using a Mac and Premiere Pro 2025.

Your sequence is set to Upper field (interlaced),

Need to set it to Progressive as in No Fields.

Hi Alyreza,

Is your media captured using an interlaced scan or a progressive scan? If it's captured using progressive scan, as Ann suggested, please set the Fields option (under Sequence > Sequence Settings) to No Fields (Progressive Scan) & let us know if it helps solve the issue.

Thanks,

Sumeet

Thanks a lot for your help.

It works that way. However, since the content is supposed to air on TV, we usually edit and export in 1080i format. In this case, I guess I have to edit in P and then export in interlace.

I couldn't check the export file to see if it works that way or if it still has that problem.

Many thanks again.
