Premiere Pro freezes my PC after closing the app
For the last week, *any* usage of Premiere Pro 24.6.1 (and, at this point, ANY Adobe app) has completely frozen my PC after exiting the program.
The apps function perfectly fine while open. I've experienced no issues during editing, rendering, or general usage. Once I close the programs, my whole PC freezes within seconds. I cannot use any already-running applications (such as my browser), open new ones, or do anything but move my mouse. Hard rebooting my PC is the only way around this.
I never experienced this issue before last weekend. I was between personal and work-related PrProj files early last week, yet none of this happened.
Before experiencing this, I updated to the latest NVIDIA Studio Driver (561.09, at the time of writing). I rolled back to the previous version and tried switching to the Game Ready Driver. No dice. I've lost track of how many times I've uninstalled, reinstalled, and clean-installed.
It might be worth noting that before this happened, I received a handful of "GDI.OutOfMemory" error messages while creating proxies within Premiere. Bear in mind, I'm working with (give or take) 100GB of 4K 24FPS footage, but I don't think I'm exceeding my hardware's capabilities...
I have plenty of disk space, no critical errors within my Event Viewer, and no serious warnings within my Task Manager. When a freeze occurs, the only abnormal sign is my GPU usage dropping from around 0-3% (upon closing Premiere or other Adobe CC apps) to -1%, usually within a minute or so. It doesn't cause any warnings, other than leading to a total freeze.
Every other non-Adobe application works fine! For the most part, this always happens with Premiere (as well as Photoshop and After Effects. Haven't tested Audition, Media Encoder, Illustrator, Lightroom, or the Substance apps) I've uninstalled all my Adobe apps for the time being, for fear of another freeze.
Any ideas as to why this is happening? Especially all of a sudden?
