Premiere Pro is extremely slow

Hi! I don't know if its a bug or not/ problem with the app or problem with my pc. Yesterday premiere pro worked perfectly fine, smooth, no problem with it. Today when i i started to work on my project i noticed it being very very slow. It had moments before where where it would be slow for a few seconds, but thats it, nothing to worry about. But now its different. I can see what im working on (in the preview tab) and then it goes black, the audio still works fine for a few more seconds and then its starting to distort. Also if i press space to stop the clip, it stops after 4-5 seconds. If i close and reopen premiere pro everything is fine for few seconds and then it happens again. I tried to export the project (40 seconds in total and its not complicated, few cuts, few subtitles, usually it took about 3-5 mins to render) and it takes 15-20 mins for it to render.

Is there something i can do ? I haven't made any change in settings.

I dont know if you need it but here are my specs:

Windows 11 Pro
GPU- RTX 4060 TI DUAL 8GB
RAM- 2x 16GB, 3200
SSD- 1TB SSD m2
CPU- AMD Ryzen 7 5700X 3,4GHz

Delete the Media Cache and Media Cache files:

If that doesn't work, try resetting the preferences:
https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-pro/faq-how-to-reset-trash-preferences-in-premiere-pro/td-p/8236158?page=1

If that doesn't work, try resetting the Workspaces:
Reset a workspace
Reset the current workspace to return to its original, saved layout of panels.
1. Do one of the following:
• Click the Workspace menu icon and select Reset to Saved Layout.
• Choose Window > Workspace > Reset to Saved Layout.
from here:
https://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/using/workspaces.html

If that doesn't work, try Preferences > Audio Hardware and set Input to None.

If NVIDIA graphics, make sure to use a Studio Driver from NVIDIA (NOT the Game Driver), but not the latest version - it has issues with Premiere Pro.

Go here to download:

https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/drivers/results/218115/

Choose Clean installation and don't install GeForce Experience.

If that doesn't work, try creating a new project and import the old one into it.

The only solution which worked for me was to downgrade Premiere pro to version 23 or any which work with Your computer. NOw all is smooth again. I used website called premiere pro downgraded to downgrade my project and i am back on track again. No setting or deleting cash in my case help. Only soft downgrade.

Hi there!

Sorry about the issue. What's the source of the media files are you editing? Are they screen recorded footage? If so, can you try transcoding them through HandBrake and see if that helps? Also, try switching "Default Input" to "No Input"? Edit >Preferences >Audio Hardware.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,
